Commonwealth Youth Awards 2022: Applications are welcomed from young persons for the Commonwealth Youth Awards which aims to recognize and celebrate young people in the Commonwealth who are impacting their communities.

The Award is supported by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II through the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust (QCT) to celebrate youths who are spearheading impactful, sustainable development work in their communities.

Commonwealth Youth Awards 2021 | DETAILS

The Award seeks to highlight the contributions young people are making to development work in the Commonwealth, particularly through the Sustainable Development Goals. It also aims at creating an environment which will encourage and sustain investments in youth-led development by motivating, encouraging and challenging young people to set high standards for their work/service at community, national, regional or international levels. The selected winner of the QCT prizes will receive two years of flexible funding at £20,000 a year, as well as coaching opportunities and organizational development support.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Youth Awards 2022, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Must be a Commonwealth citizen
  • Be aged 18 to 29 years old
  • Must have been involved in development works for at least 12 months as a professional or volunteer.

Selection Criteria

Awards will be decided on the basis of:

  • Level of impact
  • Level of innovation/fresh approaches to problem solving
  • Quality of achievement
  • Quality of the evidence provided
  • Sustainability
