Report has it that a lecturer of the University of Calabar, School of Medical Sciences, identified as Dr Stephen Ndifon and two other students of the institution were on Tuesday abducted by some hoodlums and taken to an unknown destination.
According to an eye witness and a colleague to the kidnapped lecturer, “The hoodlums came in from the water which is quite close to the residential quarters and shot sporadically scaring away even our security men before invading Doctor Ndifon’s place to kidnap him and the students staying in his boys quarters”. .
At the time of filing this report, the kidnappers have not reached out to the relatives of their abductors nor place any demand on the school authorities.
However, the Information Officer of the University, Effiong Eyo said the matter has been reported to the police and investigation was in progress.
